D5S HID Bulbs — OEM Replacement Pair for Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra & Others

D5S is the newer, lower-wattage HID standard introduced around 2013. It runs at roughly 25W instead of the 35W of D1S/D2S/D3S/D4S, which means less heat, longer life. Unfortunately this does mean that it is not as bright as other factory HID systems. New for 2026, we also have 35W D5S HID bulbs which increase the brightness beyond what the vehicle came with stock. D5S bulbs have a large bottom base, which houses not only the ignitor (like D1S and D3S) but the whole ballast system. D5S are not cross compatible with any other HID series, D5S housings must use D5S bulbs. These bulbs are compatible with all D5S systems. Verify your fitment in our Factory HID Bulb Guide.

You'll find D5S in the 2013+ Ford Fusion, Edge, Focus Electric and Police Interceptor Utility, and in late-model Volvo XC60, XC90, S60 and V60 trims fitted with HID headlamps. If your car came with D5S from the factory, this is the part that goes back in. If it came with D2S, D3S or D4S, use the matching bulb from our OEM HID replacement bulbs collection instead.

 These bulbs are offered in the original 25w, and a brighter 35w version. the 35w system does produce slightly more heat, however in our testing, under normal conditions, temperatures were always in nominal ranges (and about half that of a halogen bulb). Monitor performance initially and look for any discolouration in the housings, this is a sign of overheating.
