Mitsubishi HID Headlight Bulb Guide — D1S, D2S Replacement for Eclipse, Lancer, Lancer Evo, Outlander & Mirage
Mitsubishi HID coverage in Canada is narrow and almost entirely D2S (Mitsubishi OEM MU820005; Osram 66240, Philips 85122). The 4G Eclipse is the only Mitsubishi model in Canada that shipped with D1S (Osram 66144, Philips 85410). Mitsubishi never deployed D3S or D4S in Canada. The Lancer Ralliart, Lancer Evo IX, Outlander GT, and Outlander Sport GT all use the same D2S capsule. Galant, Endeavor, and all Wrangler-generation products were halogen-only in the Canadian market. This guide covers factory HID-equipped trims only; always confirm the bulb code stamped on your existing capsule before ordering.
Factory HID Models (Mitsubishi)
Eclipse
4G (2009–2012 GT-P / SE with factory HID) — D1S projector HID low-beam and high-beam. The 4G Eclipse is the outlier in the Mitsubishi lineup — every other factory HID Mitsubishi in Canada uses D2S. Lower trims used halogen in the same years.
Lancer
CY (2009–2017 GTS / Ralliart with factory HID) — D2S projector HID low-beam on HID-equipped trims. Lower trims used halogen in the same years.
Lancer Evolution
CT9A Evo IX (2004–2006 MR) — D2S projector HID low-beam standard on MR trim.
CZ4A Evo X (2008–2015) — D2S on HID-equipped builds. In Canada, the GSR base trim was frequently delivered with halogen headlamps; the MR and SE trim confirmed HID. The Evo X Final Edition (2015) used D2S throughout. If you are unsure, confirm by checking for a ballast module or contact us with your VIN.
Outlander
CW (2010–2015 GT with factory HID) — D2S projector HID low-beam on GT trim. The GF generation (2016+) moved to LED headlamps on upper trims and does not use a D-series bulb.
Outlander Sport / RVR
GA (2011–2017 GT with factory HID option) — D2S projector HID low-beam on HID-equipped trims. Lower trims used halogen in the same years.
Mirage
A05 (2017 GT with factory HID option) — D2S projector HID low-beam. HID was an uncommon option on the Mirage in Canada — confirm by checking for a ballast module behind the headlamp housing before ordering.

Is the Lancer Evolution X D2S?
Yes — all Evolution X production through the 2015 Final Edition uses D2S (Mitsubishi OEM MU820005) on HID-equipped builds. In Canada, some GSR trims were delivered with halogen — if you are unsure, pull the existing capsule and check for the D2S code, or confirm by checking for a ballast module.
My 2010 Eclipse — D1S or D2S?
D1S. The 4G Eclipse (2009–2012) with factory HID uses D1S throughout — it is the only Mitsubishi sold in Canada to use D1S. All other factory HID Mitsubishi models use D2S.
Did the Outlander Sport ever use D4S?
No. Mitsubishi never deployed D4S in Canada. The Outlander Sport GT (2011–2017) with factory HID uses D2S throughout.
My Lancer Ralliart headlights are flickering — bulb or ballast?
Start with the bulb. D2S capsules on Lancer and Evo applications typically begin to dim and shift colour at around four years of regular use. Swap the suspect bulb to the other side — if the flicker follows, the capsule is the cause. If the problem stays on the same side after swapping bulbs, the ballast needs attention.
