Chrysler HID Headlight Bulb Guide — D1S, D2S, D3S Replacement for 300, 300M, 200, Pacifica, Town & Country

Chrysler was an early HID adopter — factory xenon headlamps appeared on the 300M Special as early as 2002 and carried forward across the 300, Town & Country, Pacifica, and 200. Three D-series capsules are used depending on model and generation: D1S (Mopar 68021228AA; Osram 66144, Philips 85410) on the 300M Special, early 300, Town & Country, and CS Pacifica (2007–2008); D2S (Mopar 5101932AA; Osram 66240, Philips 85122) on the original CS Pacifica (2004–2006); and D3S (Mopar 68321525AA; Osram 66340, Philips 42302) on the 200, the 2015+ 300 HID trims, and the all-new RU Pacifica (2017+). Many Chrysler trims in the same years used halogen headlamps; this guide covers factory HID-equipped trims only. Always confirm the D-code stamped on your existing capsule before ordering.

Factory HID Models (Chrysler)

300M
LH Special (2002–2004) — D1S projector HID low-beam on the Special trim only. Note: the 2001 300M used halogen headlamps — factory HID was introduced on the 2002 model year 300M Special.

300 / 300C (LX first generation)
LX (2005–2010 300C / SRT8 with factory HID) — D1S projector HID low-beam. Lower trims used halogen in the same years.

300 / 300C (LD second generation)
LD (2011–2014 300C / 300S / SRT8 with factory HID) — D1S projector HID low-beam. Lower trims used halogen in the same years.
LD facelift (2015–2020 300C / 300S with factory HID) — D3S projector HID low-beam. The 300 moved from D1S to D3S with the 2015 model year refresh. Base and Touring trims continued with halogen.

200
Second generation (2015–2017 200C / 200S with factory HID) — D3S projector HID low-beam on Premium HID-equipped trims. The first-generation 200 (2011–2014) used halogen headlamps only.

Pacifica (CS crossover)
CS (2004–2006 Touring / Limited with factory HID) — D2S projector HID low-beam.
CS facelift (2007–2008 with factory HID) — D1S projector HID low-beam. The 2007 model year brought a revised headlamp assembly that moved from D2S to D1S; 2004–2006 and 2007–2008 bulbs are not interchangeable.

Pacifica (RU minivan)
RU (2017–2020 Limited / Pinnacle / Hybrid Platinum with factory HID) — D3S projector HID low-beam. This is an all-new platform unrelated to the CS crossover and uses mercury-free D3S throughout.

Town & Country
RT (2008–2016 Limited / Touring-L / S with factory HID) — D1S projector HID low-beam. Lower trims used halogen in the same years. Town & Country production ended in 2016 on D1S; the platform was replaced by the Pacifica RU, which moved to D3S.

Is my 2017+ Pacifica D1S or D3S?
The 2017+ RU Pacifica uses D3S. It is an all-new platform and uses mercury-free D3S throughout. The earlier CS Pacifica (2007–2008) used D1S — these are different vehicles and the bulbs are not interchangeable.

My 2004–2006 Pacifica has HID — D1S or D2S?
The 2004–2006 CS Pacifica uses D2S. The headlamp assembly was revised for the 2007 model year and moved to D1S. Always confirm the code stamped on your existing capsule — D2S and D1S look similar but are not interchangeable.

Do the 300 SRT8 and 300C use the same HID bulb?
Yes — both the 300C and 300 SRT8 use D1S for the 2005–2014 model years. From 2015 onward, HID-equipped 300C and 300S trims moved to D3S. The 2015 model year is the changeover — confirm by reading the code on your existing capsule if you are unsure.

Did the Town & Country ever use D3S?
No — the Town & Country used D1S throughout its entire HID run (2008–2016). Production ended in 2016; the replacement platform (Pacifica RU, 2017+) moved to D3S, but the Town & Country itself was never updated to D3S.

My 2001 Chrysler 300M — does it have factory HID?
No — the 2001 300M used halogen headlamps. Factory HID on the 300M was introduced with the 2002 model year on the Special trim only and ran through 2004. If you have a 2001 300M with HID-style output, a previous owner installed an aftermarket conversion kit.
